ROUSE GOES FOURFOLD OVER WELBECK

Central Midlands League
North Division
WELBECK WELFARE FC 2 KINSLEY BOYS FC 8

After being informed by Kinsley Boys Player/Manager Craig Rouse that this game was on, I rang Welbeck Manager and old friend Brian Wheatcroft to see if I could get a lift to and from the match.

On arrival, I was greeted by Mr Welbeck Graham Hall and offered a cuppa and in walked Rob Waite and Colin Picken. Had a quick chat with the 3 officials and it had been agreed this match was to be 2 times 40 minutes, but as the pollution was in the air, the thoughts was it would be lucky if we got 35 minutes each way.

The game was about to kick off when we was joined by Pete Craggs and Andy Saunders from AFC Mansfield.

The first ten minutes and Kinsley looked dangerous and just as I said it was only a matter before they scored a quick break up front for Welbeck and after 12 minutes and they were ahead from ASHLEY FARQUHARON;s close range shot. Welbeck then looked to have their tails up and looked comfortable until after 21 minutes, a tackle on the edge of the penalty area was deamed a foul and a penalty was awarded to the visitors to which CRAIG ROUSE fired home. Within a minute and Kinsley had turned the game around when a push in the penalty area saw CRAIG ROUSE step up and dispatch his second successful penalty. This seemed to enable Kinsley to get in to their stride but Ashley Barker in the home net kept the score at bay with shots being blocked and stopped until from a corner in the 35th minute ended up at the feet of JACK OWEN who smashed the ball home to put the visitors in to a 3-1 lead.
The light was now beginning to fade as we had a bit of rain but the players on the pitch from both sides continued to entertain us with some good football. Just before half time in the 39th minute, Kinsley extended their lead to 4-1 when RYAN JENNINGS slotted home.

The players had a 2 minute half time break before the game re-started and it was Kinsley playing with confidence and in 44 minutes CRAIG ROUSE curled home his hat-trick from the edge of the penalty area to make it 5-1.

After 50 minutes and it was Welbeck's turn to be awarded a penalty and ROBBIE SAVAGE duly put away to make it 5-2 to Kinsley. Again Kinsley poured forward and were denied again and again by the Welbeck keeper but in the 66th minute, he was finally beaten again, when CRAIG ROUSE scored his fourth and the visitors sixth of the game.

This seemed to knock Welbeck as a few heads went down and tired legs kicked in and in the 72nd minute RYAN JENNINGS slotted home his clubs seventh and then in the 74th minute came goal of the game, when the visiting keeper threw the ball out the Right winger who went down the right wing before crossing inch perfect for RICHARD WATSON to powerfully head home to make it 8-2.
