Not many games in the local area today as this one was the one I chose having not seen much of either club this season. On arrival I was greeted by the 3 officials of the game and by both committees, just before kick off was joined by fellow blogger Malc Storer who kindly passed a donation over from his blog photographer Kev Goodman(thankyou Kev).
As the teams took to the pitch, me and Malc took to pitchside and with nothing riding on this game, it began at a quick pace with the visitors missing a few early chances.
On 12 minutes, after the homesters first attack, they took the lead when WAYNE LISTER fired home. Linby pushed forward and should have been level when they struck the post but having said that Blidworth could have increased their lead when a attack was headed off the line. As I was looking forward to my half time pastie and Oxo, Linby broke and MATT MURPHY levelled on 44 minutes.
At half time, I was joined by Steve Watts who has been out of action following a injury some 18 months ago and he joined me and Malc at pitchside for the second half.
After 52 minutes, the ball dropped just outside the linby penalty area and 19 year old JAKE ALLEN volleyed home from 25 yards to give Blidworth a 2-1 lead.
In a game where both sides played football and went for goals, it was in the 80th minute when TOM COUPE headed home the equaliser. Linby in injury saw a shot bounced back off the post, but a draw was the fair result.
