PRE HOP MATCH SEES COTGRAVE FC SEAL WIN

Notts Senior League
Senior Division
WOLLATON FC 3 COTGRAVE FC 4
Played at Woodview, Cotgrave

Went to this game as I had arranged with all five home Groundhop clubs to bring me their programmes for this weekends Notts Senior League Groundhop..Please see link HERE for the latest preview.

Cotgrave were putting the final touches by plastering the refreshments room and look very organised and cant wait until Friday to greet all the hoppers, with committee men being at the ground from 3pm, whilst Wollaton FC are also looking forward to the event as well with their early 10.10am kick off.

The first 25 minutes was very even with play going from one area to the other, but ten like buses we ended up with a few goals. After 26 minutes, it was Cotgrave who took the lead, when RYAN THORPE had a couple of shots inside the penalty area before he blasted his third shot in to the back of the net. On 26 minutes, a CHRIS ATKINS free kick from the left wing swerved over the top of the Cotgrave defence and over the keeper's head to draw the teams level at 1-1.

On 39 minutes, Cotgrave re-took the lead, when a cross from the left wing was met close home by a diving head by CAMERON WADDELL. Wollaton then hit back with a disputed goal a minute later, when Fragola's cross shot was on its way in to the net and JORDAN ALLS make sure by popping the ball over the line. The Assistant Referee flagged and the Referee consulted with his official and gave the goal.

The Half time break came and the first few minutes of the half were a bit dull, but it was soon to warm up when Cotgrave were awarded a clear cut penalty on 56 minutes to which KYLE WADDELL dispatched to put his side in front for the third time on the evening. this seemed to rock Wollaton with Cotgrave pressing forward more and after 75 minutes and only being on the pitch for less than 2 minutes, sub LEWIS DOBBINS made it 4-2. As the clock ticked down Wollaton won a late corner on the left from which LUKE HUMPREYS guided home.

A very good match by two teams that wanted to play football and get in with the game. Must say I felt young Sam Kane had a excellent job as the referee backed up by his 2 assistants.
