All Level at The Station

Pre-Season Friendly
KIRTON BRICKWORKS 2 THORESBY COLLIERY WELFARE 2

On the hottest day of the year so far, I headed for Station Road and the home of Kirton Brickworks FC of the Notts Senior League where they played hosts to CMFL club Thoresby CW. The pitch looks well looked after and looked perfect for a game of football.

On arrival, I met the Kirton Sec Tony March and settled behind the goal on a bench table to set up my camera..After a team photo, it was kick off time.

Kirton took the game to their visitors for the first 20 minutes but it was the home keeper who was called in to action first when pushing a shot round the post.

As the game was heading towards the half time point, a mistake on the left wing by the home side, saw the Thoresby winger centre and the visiting striker thump the ball home.

The second half began very even steven with both sides having chances, but within 2 minutes on the 70 minutes mark the match had been turned around, across shot saw the back of the net to level things up, then the next attack saw the homesters in front on 71 minutes.

Thoresby then throw players forward and on 80 minutes drew level.

A fair result for both sides and good work out in blistering hot conditions.
